Born in 1977, in Brussels, Belgium, Boris Gaquere received his First Prize and Honors Certificate for Guitar from the classes of Sergio and Odair Assad at the Royal Music Conservatory of Brussels and Mons (Belgium). He has studied in international master-classes with Leo Brouwer, Roland Dyens, David Russell, Roberto Aussel, Costas Cotsiolis, and Paulo Bellinati.
In 2001, he recorded the Double Concerto for Bandoneon, guitar and Orchestra by Astor Piazzolla for the Belgian National Radio (RTBF) with the Orchestre de Chambre de Wallonie.
Boris Gaquere continues an international career with concert appearances in France, Germany, Holland, Great Britain, Poland, Spain, Brazil, USA, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Uruguay, and Paraguay. Boris has also participated in numerous TV and radio broadcasts in these countries as well.
His first solo album "Xeque-Mate" was released in 2003 on VGo Recordings. Included on the CD are Boris Gaquere originals and several duets with Odair Assad, playing musics by Clarice Assad and himself.
